Solid softwood ebony. Sides decorated with grid-shaped, perforated wide measuring strips. Cover plate with stepped veined marble. A conical body in a lioness, which ends on three-sided indented bases in toupie feet. The front is framed with a mask of Mercury on sun rays and crossed branches underneath, decorated with flowers through tendrils and flower garlands, flanked by corner fittings with acanthus volutes and garlands. The fittings are distinctive and of exceptionally good quality.
