Technical Description

A superb early Georgian Masonic Engraved glass rummer dating c1820. 

It has a large bucket bowl engraved with various masonic symbols including all seeing eye emanating from processional axis which joins the left pillar *Jacob) and the right pillar (Boaz). Sun, moon and seven stars. The three steps to represent the three stages of life, the three great lights which represent the Holy Bible, the set quare and compass.  The G (Geometry) is surrounded by the Star Of David and radial light. A large cushion knop stem above a conical foot with polished pontil.

This is the 2nd of a close pair which we have. The form of the glass is the same as are half of the engraving. This one is marginally smaller.
