MESSAGE FOR ALL PENNIES (HOPEFULLY)

 

-- You are bidding on the exact roll or rolls of Wheat or Memorial pennies shown in the photos. Hopefully, this message covers all pennies listed in my auctions. Tell me if I’ve missed anything.

-- This roll or rolls are from a large estate purchase we made in December 2023. It contains thousands of Wheat and Memorial pennies that we will be listing all year. The lot weighed over 400 pounds.

-- Many of the rolls were taped shut as soon as they were received and filed away for decades. We don’t believe they were searched.

-- Some rolls we received were stuck together and had to be removed carefully from their plastic tube. You may encounter one of these rolls.

-- Note that most of the tubes we forced open resulted in little or no damage to most of the coins. It just takes time. If you like, we will be happy to send you replacements and you can use the damaged ones to buy penny gumballs.)

-- Most are sealed or at least tightly packed and unsearched for decades. We are not searching or opening.

-- Bank rolls (OBW rolls) are definitely unsearched if unopened.

-- Because we don't want to open sealed or “stuck” rolls, we are offering free returns even if you open them. Chances are you will be OK but we don't want you to worry about being stuck with damaged coins.

-- Because of the volume, we are not searching the open ones for errors or MS-quality coins you can get graded. We can't guarantee that they weren't opened by the original owner six or seven decades ago. But free returns mean you're covered if you're not happy.

-- Note that bank rolls and even self-packaged rolls may have coins that do not belong. (Coins from different lots in bank sorting machines often appear in uncirculated bank rolls.) If we have extras of your year and mintmark, just ask and we'll send them to you to complete your roll.

-- If a roll is open and you would like to see more photos, just ask and as time permits we will shoot extra photos for you.
