Empires Of The North: Wrath of The Lighthouse (Expansion)

Empires Of The North: Wrath of The Lighthouse (Expansion)

This is an expansion, and requires a copy of the Empires Of The North base game to play.

Empires of the North: Wrath of the Lighthouse is a story-driven solo campaign for the award winning engine building card game: Empires of the North. The expansion comes with 15 unique solo scenarios played in the order corresponding with the story included in the Campaign book. When playing the campaign mode, players gain access to the new type of cards including Event cards, Legacy locations cards that last from one game to another, and Lighthouses cards that are shuffled to Island decks. Additionally, each of the scenarios can be played individually, just like the scenarios in the base game. In story mode you will play alongside a Campaign book and slowly discover how the plot unfolds. Why is the number of lighthouses on the coast increasing? Why do the people so strongly oppose the cathedral being rebuilt? And those seas constantly assaulted by storms? Empires of the North: Wrath of the Lighthouse is designed by Joanna Kijanka, co-designer of the base game and all previously released expansions to the game. The expansion includes 55 cards, a Scenario booklet with 15 unique scenarios, and a Campaign book with more than 50 story branches.

When you prepare your first game, choose your Clan first. Remember: the selected Clan must be used for the entire Campaign, so choose wisely! Next open the Scenario Book on the Neglected County Scenario and set up all items according to the base game rulebook and the Scenario Setup Changes.

When you’re instructed to read the Scenario, go to the indicated paragraph and follow the instructions in it. During the game you will use your own Progress Sheet throughout all of the Campaign. It is used to save changes, which will have an impact on subsequent Scenarios. In Wrath of the Lighthouse you will come across Special Locations. They have at least one box marked with a white circle, which shows how many times you can perform their action each round. After you perform the action, cover the space next to the Location with a Clan Action pawn (in an unused color), face up. If a game effect instructs you to place an exhausted Clan Action Pawn, use one of an unused color. It remains in that space until the end of the Scenario, preventing you from performing that action again.

In the box you will also find a new type of workers – Follower Workers – who will have special rules. Follower Workers can be used as standard Workers unless the scenario rules state otherwise. However, if the effect instructs you to use a Follower Worker, you cannot use a standard Worker.

Did you choose your Clan? Then let’s go and save your kingdom!

About Us

Who are we?

Well, we’re not actually badgers. We don’t even have that many badgers on staff. We are Tim and Zara, husband and wife, and we love board games (and card games, and even the odd puzzle). Our collection is now beyond 1,000 games, and includes everything from 1998’s Winnie The Pooh Candyland, to far too many Monopoly’s, to modern Kickstarters (we’re unashamedly addicted to Minigolf Designer), and even an unnecessarily large Sails Of Glory collection.

Why buy from us?

Because we love what we sell, we wouldn’t sell it if we didn’t believe it worth buying – and you can trust that if it’s from us… it’s as described, well packaged, and disappointment-free.
