Add a touch of mid-century charm to your Christmas tree with this vintage Merry Glow Sputnik Atomic Star Rotating Tree Topper.  It is made of hard durable plastic.  Its color scheme is red and gold. This original piece features a unique round design.  It has a rounded outer circle of gold glittered scallops and inner red sputnik area with clear spikes coming out of the sputnik.  There is a cord with a light bulb that inserts into the Sputnik area.  The heat from the light bulb causes the Sputnik to rotate.  There is also a piece that slides up onto the light bulb socket and then can attach to the top tree branch.  This piece can slide out of the light cord if you choose to display this piece separately rather than use it as a tree topper.

I found that the piece needs to stand straight to cause the Sputnik area to rotate.  The piece measures 5 3/4" wide by 5 3/4" tall with the piece that attaches it to your tree adding an additional 2”. This unique mid-century tree topper is in great, vintage working condition.  Perfect for collectors, this Sputnik tree topper from the 1950s features intricate details that make it a standout piece. Use it to top off your Christmas tree or display it in your collection of holiday decor.  (#21c, sbr)

Please examine all photos as they are as important to the description of this item as the words that are written about the item.  Photos of ornaments always include a photo of 4 sides plus the top and bottom and may also include any special features of the ornament.   Supersize them while you are examining the photos.

Please remember that vintage ornaments are usually from 40 to 80 years old.  All have been used and are thus probably not going to be in perfect condition.  All are subject to some surface scratches, flaking to the paint, crazing of paint, age spots, oxidation, silvering loss, nicks around or under caps, may have tarnish / discoloration to metal caps, and some may not have the original caps.  These are all signs of age ~ commonly called age patina.

NOTE:  I do offer combined shipping discounting when used with your shopping cart before you pay.  Hints for using your shopping cart for requesting discounts:  After putting your items in your shopping cart, check each of the items that you will be requesting the discount on and use "Request Total from Seller" button PRIOR TO PAYMENT.  This prevents anyone else from purchasing your items and sends a request to me for a revised invoice.  I will then package all your items and send a revised invoice to you with the new lower shipping cost.

Thanks for looking at my auction, please look at my other auctions for more vintage items and good luck in the hunt for your piece of the past.

Payment:  I only accept PayPal at this time.  Payments must be received within 3 days.  If payment will be longer than 3 days, please send me an eBay message and I will work with you.    If you have additional instructions or questions, please feel free to correspond with me.

Shipping & Packaging:  I package with 20 years of experience - if anything, I over package.  I always look for the least expensive method of shipping to save buyers money on shipping.  The shipping cost is clculated by USPS according to box size/weight and your location.  I do not charge anything above that price, not do I add a handling fee.  Delivery confirmation is always included.  I also combine multiple items in shipping whenever possible - just let me know that you are planning to bid on additional items.  Shipping should be quoted at the top except for items weighing over 1 lb., then there should be a shipping calculator for your use - if not, please e-mail for shipping information.  My goal is always to ship within 1 business day.  I sometimes mail on Saturdays, but that is one of the days that I am going to estate auctions & sales, etc. to get more items for my buyers.  If you need your package quickly, just let me know, I will do all I can to meet your expectations.

Condition of Items:  I am out shopping constantly to bring you the best vintage holiday items I can find.  Please keep in mind that vintage/antique items are OLD ~ 50 to 100+ years old.  Thus, they will probably NOT be perfect.  They may have paint loss, glitter loss, mica loss, dents, bumps, scratches.  They have usually all been used in the past and thus have the patina of age and use.   As with all my auctions there plenty of pictures for judging coloring and condition - remember to supersize them for your best view ~ they are part of the description.  Because they are items from bygone days, I cannot guarantee that they are from a smoke free or pet free environment.  Every effort has been made to describe the item as accurately as possible. I urge bidders to examine all photos and descriptions carefully and to e-mail me with any questions, concerns, or clarifications prior to the end of auction. If I have made a mistake, refund is for item price not postage.

ReturnsReturns are accepted only if I have grossly misrepresented the item.  Refunds are for the cost of the item only.  Return postage paid by the buyer.

International bidders:  Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyers responsibility.  Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.   These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.  We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as gifts- US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.

Feedback:  I will provide feedback for you, regardless of your returning the favor, but feedback from you is greatly appreciated.  If I have not met your expectations, please allow me the opportunity to make it right before leaving neutral or negative feedback. Please do not use feedback to voice a complaint or problem, give me the opportunity to resolve your issue quickly.

I do not end auctions early, please do not ask.
