Paulino Bernabe Spruce Jacaranda 650mm 1990

Description

Paulino Bernabe is a world-famous craftsman from Madrid, Spain. After studying guitar under Daniel Fortea, a disciple of Francisco Tarrega, who was also the composer of Memories of the Alhambra, he turned to guitar making. In the mid-1950s, he learned manufacturing at the prestigious Ramirez workshop, and because of his high level of skill, he served as a foreman, and left the workshop in 1969 to become independent. In 1971, after becoming independent from Ramirez Studio, he won a gold medal at the International Crafts Fair in Munich. In 1972, he created a 10-string guitar for master Narciso Yepes, known for the masterpiece "Romance" in Forbidden Games. Yepes used his guitar as his main guitar until his death. After the death of the first Paulino Bernabe in 2007, the second generation Paulino Bernabe Jr. has inherited his father's manufacturing techniques and spirit, while incorporating his own unique essence to create highly playable guitars that meet the needs of the times. This instrument was produced by the first generation Paulino Bernabe. Manufactured in 1990. Spruce top, Jacaranda side (layered) & back, Cedro neck, ebony fingerboard, rosewood lower bridge, nut width approximately 53mm, string length 650mm. A smooth tone with an even sound balance and excellent long-distance reach. It has a thick actual sound that can only be experienced with a Spanish guitar, and it has sweet overtones. A sophisticated sound that combines power and elegance. Dignified highs and deep lows, the rise and decay are smooth, and the separation of sound particles is clear. The entire fingerboard resonates supplely, giving it a truly relaxed feel. The internal structure is the same original bracing as his masterpiece "Especial". There are one bar above and below the sound hole, one bar from the bottom of the sound hole towards the treble side and bass side side panels in a figure eight shape, and two bars at the bottom in an inverted figure eight shape. It has been. The structure consists of three strength bars and a bridge plate that are installed parallel to each other along the grain of the surface board directly behind the bridge. There are dent correction marks on the side surface of the 1st string side, and there are areas where the paint correction has slightly reacted with the original paint and turned cloudy. There are streaks along the wood grain at the rowabout part of the top surface, but they do not reach the wood and are just on the surface. There is a slight distortion in the 3rd string peg shaft, but although it is a little stiff, there is no problem with the operation itself and I can't see any effect on tuning. There is a slight difference in the constriction of the back surface, probably due to shrinkage of the wood over time, but the wood itself is solid and does not affect use. In addition, there are some signs of use such as scratches from flying strings, dents, and abrasions, but there are no cracks or other fatal scratches, giving the impression that it has been well used. A general-purpose hard case is included.
