Thomas Humphrey 1948-2008 studied music from a young age, learning to play the cello. In 1970, he moved from Minnesota to New York, where he studied guitar making with Michael Grien. At first, he learned traditional Spanish production techniques and was involved in production activities, but as a passionate researcher, he was not satisfied with the traditional guitars and constantly tried to develop new ones.
In 1985, we began creating the Millennium model, which was later called the raised fingerboard RF specification. By drawing a large curve toward the neck side and thinning the thickness on the neck side, the structure gives the appearance that the neck is lifted, and also creates an angle between the strings and the top plate, which also has the effect of increasing vibration efficiency. . The production of this model, which dramatically improved high-position playability, made it a popular maker and was used by world-famous guitarists such as Sharon Isbin, Elliott Fisk, William Kannengaiser, and the Assad brothers.

The collaboration between Maitin and Thomas Humphrey began in 1998. Due to the worldwide popularity of Thomas Humphrey's guitars, they had become difficult to obtain, but they were finally made available by using Martin's production line to produce models designed by Thomas Humphrey.
Only 263 C-TSH models were produced in total.

The one that arrived this time seems to be made in 2001 based on the serial number.
Although it has had a history of repair including bridge replacement and heel seam repair, it remains in such beautiful condition with few scratches that it is hard to believe that it has been over 20 years since it was made.
The neck and frets are in good condition, and the string height is quite low, making it very easy to play.
This guitar has a soft and gentle tone, and the sustain is firm and smooth. Although the guitar has a modern appearance, its sound has a delicate beauty, and I think it will be useful not only in classical music but also in various genres of music.
