AFTER I LISTED THIS PIECE I WAS NOTIFIED BY A VERY NICE EBAYER THAT THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE ARM FOR A VICTORIAN FLOOR LAMP. BELOW YOU WILL SEE MY ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION. ALSO, PLEASE SEE LAST PHOTO WHICH IS THE COMPLETE LAMP BEING SOLD BY SOMEONE ON THE INTERNET THAT SHOWS THE COMPLETE LAMP - THIS SALE IS ONLY FOR THE ARM OR BRIDGE.

interesting piece… Is it part of a garden sundial, is it part of Victorian gaslight wall sconce fixture, a weathervane? I don’t know, and neither does my daughter who bought this back in the 1990s at a garage sale while she was decorating her college apartment in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The piece measures 18 inches long. It is made of what appears to be cast-iron. It does have a gold finish and she can’t remember if she spray-painted it gold or not. There are two threaded connections on the underside of the arrow which you will see in the photographs. The finer threaded and appears to be made of copper, and you’ll see that it’s turned a bit green.

I don’t know what else to tell you about this piece, but if you want to use it as decoration, like she did, she had a pink ribbon hanging from the arrow and used it as wall decor. Maybe it’s part of a garden sundial maybe it’s part of a gas fixture for a Victorian lamp, maybe it’s part of a weathervane?

Please view all the photos they’ll tell you more than I can and contact me if you have any questions I will be very happy to help, thank you!
