Scarce and highly collectible original first printing concert handbill advertising "Festival Brussels Jazz Club" staged at the Brussels Jazz Club in Brussels [Belgium] from 3rd to 8th February, 1983, featuring Johnny Griffin, Toots Thielemans, Art Blakey, Dexter Gordon, and Woody Shaw. Tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin was accompanied by pianist Ronnie Mathews, bassist Curtis Lundy, and drummer Kenny Washington — almost the exact line-up for the recording of the Call It Whachawana album later that year. The great Dexter Gordon was accompanied by his regular superstar rhythm section of pianist Kirk Lightsey, bassist David Eubanks, and drummer Eddie Gladden. Kirk Lightsey later said: ”Being with Dexter Gordon was probably the greatest lesson – one to one – that I’ve had in playing jazz.”

The handbill measures 15.0 x 21.0 cm (approx. 6" by 8.3" inches) and is beautifully printed in blue ink on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Please see both supersized images below for the exact condition of the handbill. Guaranteed 100% original. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have regarding this item. Thank you.
