American Vintage is a popular series in Japan that reproduces the good old days using modern technology.
This model has great features in terms of appearance and specifications, such as a large head bullet nut and a 3-point neck with micro tilt adjustment, which were typical of the 1970s.
The 70's have a strong image of an ash body with a maple fingerboard, but this one has a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and a bolt-on joint with 3 points.
The 7.25-inch fingerboard R, F key peg, and modern logo that symbolizes the 70's are faithfully reproduced at the time.
As for the assembly, all pots have been replaced with CTS25K and selector with OAK5waySwitch.
Additionally, the pickup has been replaced with a Fender CustomShop Texas Special, which, combined with the ash body, creates a clear, bite-filled sound.
There are markings on the back of the pickguard, counterbore processing on the rear position (not done by a shop or workshop), and there is also evidence of slight processing on the center.
There are signs of use, scratches, rice-grain-sized scratches, and burnt stickers on the back panel, but considering the year of manufacture, the exterior is in relatively good condition.
Currently, the truss rod is about 70% tight, the neck is slightly twisted, and the fingerboard is slightly raised.
The frets show a decrease in the low position, and the area where the most decrease is about 50% remaining, and the rest of the frets are kept at 70% overall, so there are no places where the sound is extremely clogged, and for the current use. No problem.
The crisp, clear, bite-filled single sound is appealing, and even though it's a 70s model, many people are excited about the rosewood fingerboard.
