This is a 3556 Sunburst Esterbrook fountain pen nib.  The collar is brown.

This nib was among the first produced by Esterbrook meant to screw into the section. It is from the 3XXX series that had a "sunburst" of radiating lines on the steel nib. It is pretty rare and highly sought after.  Not many out there.

This nib is interchangeable with 33+ others by simply screwing the point out of your Esterbrook pen and screwing a new one back in its place.  

To tempt you further, we'll include a good copy of the Esterbrook nib chart from 1955.
