 Jughead.

Jughead is a stylised interpretation of a startled, bewhiskered and fat-bellied cat. Made from resin and painted by hand using a specially blended paint effect to create a mottled stone background, the dynamic decoration combines star bursts, geometric patterns of triangles, wavy lines and zig-zags inspired by Govinder’s original artwork.

Through his art Govinder aimed to look through the simplicity of an object or form to discover ambiguity and paradox, and he is recognised as one of the most inventive of artists of the early twenty-first century.

 His uniquely textured and colourful style was developed by exploring the balance and harmony of colour, the flow of lines and forms and the connections between shapes.
