***IMPORTANT****

This lens has been converted to screw drive (Means the autofocus drive is driven from the camera body and not the SDM motor in the lens) A couple of the earlier SDM lenses from Pentax suffered with issues with the SDM drive leading to issues with the lens focusing. This can be overcome with a software hack which tells the camera that this is a screw drive lens so that the camera body is used to drive the autofocus. In general terms the focus performs as well (if not a little quicker) as with the SDM drive, it is just not as quiet.

The lens is designed for Pentax APSC bodies but will work with Full Frame in crop mode. I have used the lens on a number of bodies up to and including the latest APSC body (K-3 iii)

Being a DA* series lens this a a stellar performer with a fast F2.8 aperture which is constant through the zoom range. Glass is clear of scratches / fungus/ haze. Dust (if any ) is minimal. Zoom action is smooth and well damped as is the manual focus. Iris is snappy in action. Cosmetically the lens is in lovely condition with only a few signs of normal use.

All in all this is a superb lens which fully lives up to the DA* series billing.
