A rare Gibson Bass made in 1956.

This is an extremely rare model, with approximately 540 records shipped between 1953 and 1958.
It is Gibson's first electric bass and is a historically valuable product.

This unit is manufactured with a different concept from Fender instruments.
By removing the painted F-hole and purfling line, the screw-type end piece, and attaching a long rod to the violin contrabass shape, you can play in a contrabass-like style.
As mentioned above, the structure is based on the idea of downsizing and electric from the lineage of stringed instruments.

A dense and thick warm sound typical of Gibson basses.
It has a solid body made of Honduran mahogany, has luxurious specs, and has been played for a long time, making it an instrument with a loose feel that you will become addicted to.
The structure has two capacitors in the circuit, but the wiring for one of them has been removed to create a circuit that slightly reduces loss in the high frequency range, so that may also be contributing.
Also, this is a reversible change that can be undone, so it is also well-liked.

The pot date is 22 weeks of 1955 in volume, the tone is 8 weeks in 1956, and the serial number is 1956.
Although the bottom of the nut has been raised, the nut itself appears to be original, and the frets are also original.
The condition of the paint is also good, and I think it's good for both players and collectors.

Although several screws have been replaced, the main parts remain intact, and the banjo pegs, which appear to be fragile, are in good working order with no problems.
There is plenty of room for the rod, and there are some dents in the frets, but with the settings of the 4th string being about 3mm and the 1st string being about 2.5mm, there is no problem with the sound being clogged.

Above all, it is an instrument that is not only rare but also full of romance.
Do not miss it.

Please take this opportunity.
