A rare Gibson Bass made in 1956.
This is an extremely rare model, with approximately 540 records shipped between 1953 and 1958.
It is Gibson's first electric bass and is a historically valuable product.
This unit is manufactured with a different concept from Fender instruments.
By removing the painted F-hole and purfling line, the screw-type end piece, and attaching a long rod to the violin contrabass shape, you can play in a contrabass-like style.
As mentioned above, the structure is based on the idea of downsizing and electric from the lineage of stringed instruments.
A dense and thick warm sound typical of Gibson basses.
It has a solid body made of Honduran mahogany, has luxurious specs, and has been played for a long time, making it an instrument with a loose feel that you will become addicted to.
The structure has two capacitors in the circuit, but the wiring for one of them has been removed to create a circuit that slightly reduces loss in the high frequency range, so that may also be contributing.
