HELLO!
Thank you
very much for looking.
There are
lots of pictures below the text, so please scroll down to view. Below ALL the text...
I specialise
in non-dealer standard BMW bikes and the odd (usually) Italian bike when I can
get them. I've been on eBay for over 15 years and in the trade for a lot
longer than that.
There are
full details about the bike below, but of course please feel free to get in
touch if you want to discuss anything.
The bike
will be as I got it, or has been washed by myself before the photography as part of checking the machine over.
I always
ride the bikes and clean them myself to check and make sure this is as full a
description as possible.
Bike is sold as a working, ride home machine unless stated otherwise and sold as spares repair.
ALL AUCTIONS
RUN TO THE END to give everyone the same chance to bid, unless they are classified ads or have a buy it now.
UK delivery
happily arranged, £180 to most locations, bit more for Scotland I am afraid.
I and the bike are in NORTH DORSET, SP8
GENERAL
OVERVIEW:
I am absolutely delighted with this, and will defiantly consider keeping it if not sold now..
One of 1000 of the first year of the RS " comeback " after being out of production while BMW concentrated on the flat fours and triples, this was a US registered bike from new in California, before being imported last year after a massive and no expense spared restoration.
Very pleasingly on the original clocks, just run in now...
Full service and MOT by BMW at just over £ 500 last year, it's done 200 miles since then.
Hopefully priced right. Not cheap, but great value.
BASIC DETAILS:
Reg Number: E516 ODE
Reg Date: 01/01/1988 or 5/11/2023...
Mileage: 86405
MOT: 23/10/2024
Documents: V5, some notes and info
Keys: 3 keys
Books and
manuals: None
SPECIFICATION
AND EXTRAS:
Panniers!, Heated grips! er, that's about it really, unless you count a stainless exhaust.
SERVICE
HISTORY:
Nothing with the bike, just the notes on the BMW service bill. That will be available after you get a V5 in your name, from BMW.
I have, of course, fitted a brand new battery...
FAULTS AND ISSUES:
Everything visible should pictured below...
Funnily enough, nothing at all really!
Bike has a touch of corrosion on a couple of fasteners etc, for a bit of patina, but that's the UK for you.
Only issue which needs sorting, and I will do if I get a chance is the " pillows " that seal the faring around the top of the forks. I think they need relocating into the grooves, and possibly a bit of light gluing...
TEST
RIDE:
Rides very
well! All works as it should, no issues I can tell.
Really very good! And enough go brakes and handling to be totally safe in modern traffic too.
It's also very comfortable!
CONCLUSIONS:
A splendid bike all round really.
Even the colours where better back then! Remember this will be a Berlin built bike when BMW where massively more expensive than the rest, and where very much the upmarket quality option...!
Put your own jokes in here about the current stuff...
Anyway, pictures tell you all you need to know. It is a very special example.
There are similar bikes about, but this is hopefully a bit cheaper too...
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Please let
me know if you have any questions at all: e-mail via eBay, directly on bidforbikes@gmail.com
or you are very welcome to call me on 07968 488 869.
I am in DORSET SP8, near Shaftesbury.
I try to describe
the bike accurately, but as usual, a deal is dependent on you finding the bike
as described and being happy with it.
A thirty-day
full refund is offered if you are not satisfied. I am always happy to discuss
any issues with the bike to try and sort out a mutually acceptable solution.
You are
welcome to call if you would prefer to talk about the bike. My number is 07968
488 869.
I am in the
south west, NORTH DORSET, close to the A303, the M3 and about an hour from
Bath, Bristol and Southampton, or two 1/2 hours drive/95 miles from London.
I am also
convenient for a mainline railway station (Gillingham Dorset) with direct
services from London Waterloo to Exeter and I would be happy to collect you
from the local railway station if you wish to travel here by train and then
ride the bike home.
Bike
delivery in the UK is £180 to England or Wales, a bit more to Scotland.
Payment on
collection or delivery by bank transfer or cash please. NO deposit required.
I am selling
this bike as a TRADER and I do this as my full-time occupation, with
thirty-plus years' experience in the trade.
The bike IS
NOT registered to me but will be on a dealer S.O.R.N. Most of my stock is
purchased directly from official dealers, so the bikes have been checked by the
dealer as well as myself.
I will
always ride and check the machines before sale, and they are fully able to be
ridden home, unless otherwise noted in the ad, in which case they will be
listed as spares or repair/project.
I have a
very fine professional old school local workshop who do work for me, so
anything done on the bikes is done by an expert!
ALL BIKES
ARE SUPPLIED HPI CLEAR.
The bike is
for sale here only, and will ALWAYS run to the end to give everyone the same
chance, unless it has a buy it now or is a classified ad, or I discover a problem with the machine subsequently!
Please bid
as usual.
I can never
give you a 100% guarantee as to the bike's prior history as I have not known it
from new, but I can share my opinion as to the bike's appearance and mechanical
condition, history and how it rides after a lot of BMW experience and over 1500 sold!
Thank you
again for your interest and good luck!
Steve.
