"The Wilson 8802" made in 1964!!! First step down is six inches from the hosel. The nickel covers the whole face! These are the two easiest ways to tell if it's an 80's remake or not. All original 8802's were 35.5 inches long, the remakes are only 35 inches. Also the original cap has music notes. Please look closely at these pictures because this is the exact putter you will receive. 

I've had this putter for 10 years. I removed the original wide paddle grip and replaced with the Odyssey grip because it was so dried up that it was no longer playable. I still have the original music note cap.
