Up for sale is a recently serviced Sony TC-K81. I believe this is the second generation of Sony flagship decks after they completely redesigned their cassette deck lineup — successor to the TC-K75 and the predecessor to the famed TC-K777.

3 heads with full bias/level calibration. Oscillator pots were cleaned and adjusted. New belts, transport fully cleaned and overhauled. Recently serviced at Mort’s TV at Levittown, PA. Invoice can be provided upon request.

Playback, recording, fast forwarding, rewinding were all tested working. VU meter has no dead bulbs, all functions seem to be working flawlessly. Multi-voltage unit, 110/120/220/240V switchable.

Please note that this is almost a 45-year-old piece of electronics, therefore while I do think it’ll have many many healthy years ahead given the recent service, this deck will be sold as is with no returns. The deck will remain a part of my personal audio setup till sold, so it’ll still see occasional use while the listing is up.

Will be cleaned, fully bubble wrapped, and securely boxed before shipping.
