 FAH 97T
First registered and pre delivery inspected by Mann Egerton Jaguar dealer in Norwich on 08.05.1979. This is a wholly original ultra low mileage example, in timewarp condition the likes of which there must be very few remaining worldwide. Not a restored vehicle, this is a wonderfully preserved classic Jaguar with a flamboyant factory specification. It’s a fully operational cat with no compromises, ready to take 1st place at the next show, you can use this on Sunday or store it for generations to come - we suggest doing it all.

History
Most recently owned for the last 5 years by a dedicated mature lifelong Jaguar man involved in the Jag enthusiast club and the Jag drivers club.

Complete comprehensive history files accompany this cherished classic, the owners leather wallet containing the original bill of sale, further sales literature of the day, all historic MoT certificates and tax discs. Amazingly, all the items given to the 1st keeper by the dealer are present, including a Jaguar tax disc holder still in it's packet, lock and key codes, a welcome letter, a 1st Birthday car from the dealer etc., the list goes one. Simply wonderful irreplaceable irrefutable provenance, like buying a vintage Rolex and finding it has the original boxes, tags, paperwork and all the dealer incidentals in pristine condition - what a find.

The history files tell of a story of regular maintenance without regard for expense, notably Bentley Norwich have been looking after it for a great number of years there is a whole file of Bentley Norwich invoices and lots of recent work far too much to list here. Give me a call and we can go through the files together.

The condition is more or less as new. It has the odd storage mark though you could count them on a few fingers. The paint is superb and unblemished, no fading and there is no rust whatsoever. The arches are free from rust, if anything a little road rash. Sills are perfect, not a blemish, chrome brightwork is unmarked and without a blemish, perfect mirror finish all over, boot has all original linings in perfect unused order, has original unused tool kit and spare wheel and tools. No evidence of historic dampness in any part of the cabin or boot carpet trim, no swelling, no discoloration, no fading, no warping, no delamination of the wood. The headlining appears to have been replaced and is perfect.
The leather is original factory, not restored or recoloured, it's all original and in perfect order with only very very minimal wear to the driver seat consistent with 18k miles. the carpers are beautiful, dry and unmarked, the driver heel pad has never seen a shoe.
The wheels are perfect, with unmarked chrome caps and each one with a Pirelli P4000 with deep treads. Rather interestingly, the original factory 70's radio has a rather expensive Bluetooth conversion (£638) and should work with modern tech.
The underside is immaculate clean too, pictured below, rot free, all components in a high state of preservation.
This is a pristine near perfect Jaguar.

The XJ Series 3
The Jaguar XJ is the benchmark saloon car. Even today, some 50 years later the XJ has a lot to teach even the most luxurious modern German saloon offerings and some might say that no manufacturer has since managed to capture the presence of the XJ. Many say that Jaguar saved the best until last with the Series 3, and I have to agree. I personally feel this Series 3 to be the best combination of specification, in that’s it’s a 4.2, no sunroof, air con, Cranberry Red and matching Russet leather. Examples of this model of this quality are drying up very quickly indeed.
