Rare and long out-of-print K2 HD mastering released in 2007 by First Impression Music.
The first internationally available title in the new K2 HD mastering format. First Impression Music uses master tapes of popular titles to show worldwide the previously unrealized potential of the CD. Winton MA is the boss of First Impression Music and said back in 2006 that he had heard something new and that he liked it. He had heard the first recordings with the prototypes of the K2 HD encoder. At the invitation of Victor Entertainment, he brought his own master tapes to the FLAIR Studio in Japan and did the comparison himself and was horrified. For the first time, he no longer heard the difference between tape and digital encoding. How could he be able to sell such a system when SACD and DVD-Audio had not made the big breakthrough? The technicians at Victor Entertainment explained it quite simply. Not at all, because the K2 HD coding is completely CD compatible and would sound on any CD player. Winston MA was thrilled and decided to release new productions as K2 HD Mastering in the future. Here you can hear a first selection that offers a broad musical focus.
