Gibson J-160E FULLERS VINTAGE

Description

The J-160E, which was popular as John Lennon's favorite instrument, was produced at the Kalamazoo factory until 1979. After that, after moving to the Nashville factory, the production base was moved to Bozeman, Montana in 1987, and production of leashes (reproduction models) of many popular models including J-45 began around 1990.
This J-160E is a Historic Limited Line J-160E ordered for the Japanese market by Yamano Gakki, which was an official Gibson importer at the time, and was ordered by Gibson Five Star dealer FULLERS VINTAGE GUITAR in the United States with similar specifications. Since this model was released only in the home country, I think it is rare to see it on the Japanese market.
The usual ladder bracing, laminated spruce top, and the unique, crunchy sound typical of the J-160E are attractive.
The body has a laminated spruce top, mahogany sides and back, a rosewood fingerboard, and an adjustable ADJ bridge with tusk saddles.
The pegs are Kluson type, and the knobs are Keystone two knobs. The rod cover has two screws instead of one.
The magnetic pickup is P-90, a ground plate is attached to the bridge plate, and noise prevention processing has been completed. P-90 has a side jack specification. The P-90 pickup is a magnetic type pickup with a natural and sweet sound.
If you want to use the P-90 as your main instrument and play it with an amplifier, we recommend nickel strings, which are used with electric guitars, rather than bronze strings.
It's been over 20 years since it was new, so there are scratches and scratches on the top of the body from normal use. There are scratches and scratches on the back from belt buckles, etc. There is a 1cm scratch on the back of the head, but overall it is in good condition considering the model year, with no noticeable scratches or cracks. There is a pin on the neck heel.
Nut width: 43.9 (measured) This is a regular grip neck. The string height is also easy to play and has been adjusted to 2.2 on the 6th string and 1.6 on the 1st string above the 12th fret, but since it is an adjustable bridge, you can easily adjust it yourself.
The unique sound of the J-160E is made up of three elements: ladder bracing, laminate top, and adjustable saddle, and you can enjoy a sound full of atmosphere.
This is one of the models that has become rare in the used market in recent years, so we recommend it to those who are looking for it. Comes with original hard case.
