This truly beautiful stereoscopic viewer appears to be French, and I would estimate the age to be mid to late 19th Century. The unit is in solid figured mahogany, as is the storage box, and everything is in exceptionally nice original condition. Varnish is original, and the device comes with many, many glass slides. I have pictured some of them here.
