Very good condition complete 2-Vol set calf leather hardcover copy of Sale's Koran: Commonly Called the Alcoran of Mohammed (Translated into English Immediately from the Original Arabic, with Explanatory Notes) by George Sale Gent. Published 1825 by Thomas Davidson, London UK. Both volumes have new spines with gold lettering. Both Volume 1 & 2 have sound binding and generally unmarked pages, with the exception of very minor age toning/spotting as well as the previous owner's information written on the title page of both volumes. Vol 1 has a dealer bookplate on the front free endpaper, and Vol 2 has a bookplate on the inside front cover with a previous owner's name on it. Both boards are square but have chipping and scuffing to the leather and show minor shelf wear. Volume 1 has various fold out maps and prints. Both volumes have marble endpapers and fore edges.
