This original early advertising, wooden display box is from Runkel Brothers Chocolate Sweet Chocolates, New York.  
On the front label it reads "For Eating and Drinking 1/8 Vanilla Sweet  Six Pounds 48 Cakes"
Measures 11" x 3" x 8 3/4"
The original lid is still attached securely.  Really nice piece for country store, chocolate, early advertising, New York, New England, or primitive collector.
