1960 Press Photo Russian capsule in which dogs Belka & Strelka orbited Earth

This is an original press photo. This is the hermetically sealed cabin in Moscow in which the Soviet space dogs Belka and Strelka, orbited the earth and catapulted to earth last month, according to Tass, the official Russian news agency. Dogs are said to have ridden in a section of the container at right. A detailed description of the space ship said it consisted of two main components - the cabin and instrument compartment. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 09-04-1960.
