A very rare set of 10 postcards from Originalgrafik - Serie 1: Munchen, published by Klaus Staeck.

1971-1972, each card 4 x 5.75, with an original color graphic on the front inspired by the city of Munich, Germany.

This is a mix of first and second issues. The first issue cards have the imprint of Edition Tangente in the lower left of the verso. The second issues have Edition Staeck. However all of them are vintage productions, as evidenced by the old address of 69 Heidelberg and the age of the paper.

Number, Artist - Title - Medium - Imprint:

Nr. 1. Stefan Wewerka - Die Liebfrauenkirche zu Munchen - offset - edition tangente
Nr. 2. Richard Hamilton - Munchen / Bordeaux: Friedensengel - offset - edition tangente

Nr. 10. Friederike Pezold - Munchen: Weltstadt mit Herz - offset - edition staeck
Nr. 11. Dick Higgins - Frauenkirche - offset with foil screenprint - edition staeck

(note: this set does not include Number 6)

In very good condition overall, a few with a very slight corner crease, some minor handling marks to the versos.

Notable for a number of reasons, but most important is the early version of Yoko Ono's most famous postcard. A framed example of that card sold for over $600 in a Christie's online auction in 2020, and newer versions are currently demanding hundreds of dollars on eBay.
