Omega-3 fatty acids, mostly derived from fish, are famous for their benefits. These compounds support your heart, joints and brain. Omega-3s help to maintain blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels already within normal range—and that’s just the beginning.
Krill oil offers much the same benefits as fish-derived omega-3s, and is rapidly absorbed by your bloodstream. So we’ve combined these two into a single formula—and added olive extract, sesame lignans, and astaxanthin to boot.
Fresh Fish OilWhile most fish are excellent sources of lean protein, the same cannot be said for omega-3s. This is because omega-3s are found in highest concentrations in cold-water fish like salmon or mackerel. One exception to this rule is anchovy. The benefits of fish oil are well documented, but we wanted to go beyond other formulas. So we turned to the Mediterranean diet for inspiration.
The Mediterranean diet is one based on a high intake of vegetables, fruits, herbs, nuts, legumes, olive oil, and lean fish. Noticeably absent is red meat, saturated fats, and salt. What does this have to do with fish oil?
In addition to a highly-concentrated dose of EPA and DHA omega-3s, our formula contains olive extract rich in heart-friendly olive polyphenols: every serving has the equivalent of over 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
