Microalbumin Creatinine Kidney Function Urine Test 50 Strips MicroalbuPHAN July 2024
Made in EU
The MicroalbuPHAN diagnostic test strip is used for the semi-quantitative determination of protein and creatine in urine. The MicroalbuPHAN test strip can be used to screen for microalbuminuria, a positive result must be confirmed by quantitative measurement.
The MicroalbuPHAN diagnostic test strip is designed for in vitro laboratory use and visual assessment.
The clinical relevance of protein detected in low concentrations in urine is the early recognition of the risk of renal failure. Microalbuminuria is the first indicator of possible incipient kidney disease or other diabetes-related complications. It is an important marker of circulatory disease, essential hypertension and complications of diabetic pregnancy.

Clinical significance

Microalbuminuria diagnosed in time can prevent several health issues:

l Kidney damage

l Diabetic complications

l Cardiovascular diseases

l Risks affecting pregnant patients with diabetes

Main features

l Screening test

l Easy to use

l Economical solution

l Measurement of microalbuminuria and proteinuria

using one single pad

l Measurement of creatinine for more precise evaluation

of microalbuminuria

Technical benefits

l Simultaneous measurement of two related parameters:

albumin and creatinine

l Wide measurement range: from 0.01 g/l to 5 g/l

l Quick results (within 1 min.)

Principle

Test strips MicroalbuPHAN® are designed for semi-quantitative measurement of microalbuminuria. In favour of a higher precision and more reliable evaluation, the strips carry a Creatinine pad too, besides the Albumin pad. Measuring principle of urine albumin content is based on the color change of an acid-base indicator, while that of urine creatinine content is based on the reaction of creatinine with 3,5-Dinitrobenzoic acid in alkaline medium.

Interpretation of results

Albumin1 - Normal concentration of albumin in urine is <0.02 g/l.

Microalbuminuria is indicated in case of results 0.02 – 0.3 g/l

Creatinine2 - Normal concentration of creatinine in urine is 2.2 -26.5 mmol/l

Albumin-to-Creatinine Ratio3 - Microalbuminuria is indicated in case the ratio

of albumin to creatinine is 3.4 – 33.9 mg/mmol
