WORLD FAMOUS CREATURES (Oct. 1958 – June 1959) Magsyn Publications / Editor: M. Leon Howard / 68 B&W pages (inc. covers). If imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, then Famous Monsters of Filmland should have been most flattered by WFC, which was a direct copy of the FM look and editorial style. One of the most sought after of the early monster mag titles by collectors, WFC sported some very nice cover art, rivaling (and perhaps bettering) anything FM had to offer, at that time. The back covers of WFC #1 and #2 featured a Halloween mask that you could cut out and wear. Not many of these back covers survived, as this was years before the “preserve and collect” comic & monster magazine boom started in the early 1960s. Sadly WFC lasted only four issues.

When it comes to the lesser known and scarcer monster magazines, Collectors have found them to be prohibitively expensive and extremely hard to find in collectible shape. Quite often our association with them is only with their cover image as obtaining a “hands-on” copy has thwarted many life-long Collectors. Here is a golden opportunity to obtain this magazine perhaps at a fraction of the price one in better shape would undoubtedly command.

Contents: Wrinkled Faces, Green Hell, Chicks Turn Chicken, The Horror of Dracula, The Fly, The Truth About Frankenstein, Tin-Can Features, Photoquiz, Jungle Jolly Makes Out, A Weirdwolf Tale, The Invisible Terror, Bride of Frankenstein, Monster of the Month, Hey Abbott, Beware Werewolves, Half Human?, more!

Condition: area of paper-loss at bottom of spine, apprx. 1/2" cover split at bottom of spine, spine roll forward, wear/tearing/paper-loss around tarnished staples (covers remain attached), wear/creasing on all edges of front cover, wear/multiple creases at both reading edge corners of front cover, creasing/tears along bottom edge of back cover, tears along reading edge of back cover, scuffing/scratching over surface of back cover (mask), browning/ink grime transfer over surface of back cover, internally complete with all pages with nothing clipped out or missing.

All magazines are packaged with Collectors in mind. They will be individually bagged, and sandwiched between two pieces of over-sized cardboard. This not only helps to prevent magazine edge damage during the shipping phase, but it also helps to prevent folding and rough handling of the magazine(s). This secured package is then put into a cushioned bubble mailer, helping to ensure you will receive your item in the same condition that it leaves my crypt in! A quote for postage cost for combined shipping for multiple purchases is always available. Thanks very much for your interest in my items!
