"Atlas Historique". Here Chatelain depicts a pilgrimages whose participantso travel on camels, on foot, and horseback.
This scene of Turkish peoples en route from the gates of Cairo to visit their holy sites in Mecca and Medina is in a beautifully detailed vignette which realistically renders the various groups making up the pilgrimage, including
janissaries, falconers, drummers, religious leaders, etc.
