Verner Panton for Fritz Hansen  V - 8800 Wire Cone Chair designed in 1988, chrome plated.

This example is in structurally good condition and includes the bevelled washer on the base to convert it from a spinning chair to a fixed chair.

The chair is based on the Wire Cone Chairs of the Plus-linje collection, designed in 1959. In terms of design (structure of the grid) and dimensions, the Fritz Hansen Wire Cone Chair V-8800 is different, as the cone starts with a circle spiralling down towards the tip and the spiral is being stabilized by 8 vertical struts. The base is a flat plate foot.

Material: steel wire, chrome plated, violet upholstery. Originally designed 1988.

This chair was originally bought in Denmark and was shipped to the UK by my late father.

I have inherited this piece, but do not have room for it.

Condition: In  good condition structurally, slight holes and stains in seat base material and head cushion from being in storage. The seat pad and headrest will need to be re-upholstered. There is some chrome deterioration mainly on the back of the chair-please see photos.
