As Ann Littlefield listens to the elders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a rented hall in Portsmouth, England, her pulse quickens. A growing excitement starts. Ann rushes home to share the joyous news with her husband. But Will Littlefield is appalled. Ann clings to her testimony and to a promise revealed to her in a dream. She prays for Will's conversion, cares for her nine children, and longs for the day when the Littlefields can gather to Zion. Ann's prayers are answered, but often in startling ways that test her. But she endures, and in the enduring she forges an indomitable spirit.
