Here we have an unusual group of three varied covers on the subject of the United Nations plus a complete UN reply postal card returned from Switzerland. They have minor bumps, etc., from international postal handling and the reply card is somewhat stained in one corner.

First we have a neatly illustrated UN Stamp Exhibit in Dunkirk NY cover from 1954. It has a double circle Dunkirk postmark and a very neat Dunkirk NY seal illustration and was sent to a Herbert Swanson in Hillsboro IL. It is numbered 259.

Then we have an elusive intact 1960 UN formular (no postage paid) postal card with paid reply to Switzerland and back asking for the application of a postmark about help for refugees in Switzerland. Both frankings include the US World Refugee Year stamp, so this is a good item for a collection on that subject. The outgoing portion of the card is tied by a Rochester NY single ring handstamp.

Next is a UN Trust Territories in the Pacific illustrated map cover that shows a variety of Pacific islands. It is unaddressed and has a Ebeye TT double ring handstamp in vermillion of Dec 18 1979.

Finally we have a UN Development Programme illustrated corner card cover from Maputo, Mozambique. The three Roy Wilkinson 34-cent stamps are tied by a New York machine cancel of 2003. The cover to a firm in Cumbria, England, could well have been taken to the U.S. for posting.

An interesting and varied UN group.

The postage on this lot is higher than I would like, which is down to Royal Mail rates and other charges beyond my control such as eBay and PayPal commissions. I use good British stamps to send all my lots and these should result in collectable stamps cancelled by hand in my village post office for the buyer.

As I have some fixed-price lots, anyone who makes a purchase might want to look at them before paying. If you buy more than one item, please wait for my invoice so I can combine postage

When payment is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item will not go out until the following Monday.
