With the Lucid LD03 Silverstone presents an ultra-compact showcase case for Mini-ITX and Mini-DTX motherboards with an innovative cooling concept. The manufacturer relies on the chimney effect and positions the fans in the bottom and lid of the housing. A 120 mm case fan or radiator can be installed at these locations. The factory includes two 120er fans included. A whopping 190 millimeters are provided for CPU coolers.
For a particularly good air flow, the interior has been optimized in some places. The motherboard tray is rotated 90 degrees and the I / O panel is at the top. The graphics card can be up to 309 millimeters long and is thus behind the left side wall of the Silverstone Lucid LD03, their connections are directed upward.
Power supply, drives and design
The power supply is also installed vertically and sits with the fan on the back of the housing. The Lucid LD03 is suitable for SFX and SFX-L power supplies up to 130 millimeters. In front of the power supply and at the bottom of the housing are modular dust filters. A total of two drives can be installed internally: a 2.5 or 3.5-inch data storage and a 2.5-inch SSD are mounted on a support in the right side.
The chassis is made of steel and is completely black. Silverstone gives the Lucid LD03 three dynamically angled outer panels with tempered smoked glass, which allow a darkened view of the interior of the case. On the top, a large, air-permeable plastic cover hides the connecting cables. There is also the I / O panel of the housing with two USB 3.0 ports, a microphone input and an audio output.
The mainboard is installed rotated by 90 degrees, so that the graphics card in the mainboard and vertically in the housing sits.
Three exterior panels made of tinted tempered glass allow a view of the installed hardware.
