Frank Eliscu (USA, 1912-1996,) designer of the famous NCAA Heisman Memorial football trophy & of the five-story installed bronze sculpture at the entrance to the U.S. Library of Congress in Washington, DC & of ex-U.S. President Gerald R. Ford's inaugural medal, given later as a gift to Soviet leader Leonid Breshnev, comes this Modernist vintage olive green colored polymer, heavy resin with infused stone aggregate, abstract figurative sculpture of an owl with a young owlet, huddled below, mounted on a black enamel painted plinth block base with a red felt protective cover. The material Eliscu, in this case chose to use in this particular sculpture, isn't made of stone as some have suggested or simply comprised of olive green colored polymer but rather polymer resin that's embedded with stone aggregate, giving the figurative sculpture its significant mass, weighing 5 lbs. 6 oz.
