Hinge door compartment for Mercedes Benz SL R129 prefacelift from 1989-06 / 1995  up to VIN number (last 6 digits:) 125157

 a problem that overtakes ALL pre facelift R129 once, we can now deliver sustainably and in the usual Mercedes-Benz quality of the 90s.

 The hinges of the door compartments break after 30 years on the vehicles because of the high load on them when the door is closed.  The result is a loose door pocket flap which can be provisionally reattached with screws and pierced through the broken parts, but this means that the flap no longer stays up when you open it and also lies loosely without spring action and atypically Mercedes-Benz.

 Since we absolutely wanted to keep the original look (screws not visible from the outside), we decided to have this part manufactured here in Germany using a complex injection molding process.

 The parts are made from the much more modern and therefore more durable material Bayblend.

 Both the tool and the manufacture of the parts are "Made in Germany".

 Advantages compared to other manufactured parts:

 1. Manufactured by injection molding (much stronger than 3D printed parts) (strength)

 2. Visually based on the original (not composed of several parts and no visible screw connections from the outside.

 3. Material: Bayblend® = PC / ABS (polycarbonate / acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is a blend of PC and ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene).  This material combines the unique good processability of ABS with the great mechanical properties of PC such as impact strength and heat resistance.  They show good resistance in the low temperature range and high heat resistance.
