Method of connecting the two ends of the belt:
Step 1: Heat with an alcohol lamp until it is hot enough to melt the ends of the belt.
Step 2: Join the ends together until cool.
Step 3: Trim off excess material around the joint until the joint is the same diameter as the belt.
