One of the most highly coveted Art Deco ceiling lights that is professionally restored, rewired and ready to install in your home. A truly wonderful ceiling light in a style that will enhance your period, modern, or eclectic decor. The chandelier is shown with a ceiling medallion. The ceiling medallion is not included. Additionally, light bulbs are not included. 20+1/2"-inch drop/hang (from top of ceiling cap to bottom of finial) 14+1/4-inch (point to point) clear/frosted sunflower design heavy glass shade crystal body and bobeche 10 crystal French pendalogue prisms (2+1/4") socket cluster with 3 ceramic / porcelain sockets unfinished solid brass canopy, loops, mounts, and finial brass plated cathedral chain new lead wire and updated with a ground wire mounting hardware included combined weight of fixture and shade - 8 pounds An assumption is made that if you are looking at the sunflower chandelier you are familiar with it or at least the shade. I have chosen not to describe in detail the shade and glass pieces. Hence, the many photos. Standard size socket appliance bulbs are shown in the photos. My preference is to an appliance size or tapered chandelier bulbs instead of the traditional (larger diameter) shape bulb. Care should be taken so that larger diameter incandescent light bulbs do not get too close to or contact the glass shade. Additionally, with this particular style shade tapered or smaller size bulbs are easier to change. Energy efficient bulbs are highly recommended to deter heat near the shade and socket wiring. Each socket can handle at least up to at least a 60-watt bulb. The sunflower glass shade is significant weighing nearly 6 pounds Although the glass shade is heavy it is nearly impossible to find one in mint condition. For a fixture with a mint condition sunflower shade expect to pay hundreds of dollars more. Some of the petal tips on the shade have very small chips on the top or bottom surfaces. The scalloped top border has some small chips. The voids (petal tips and scallop border) were filled with a clear acrylic resin and scuffed to blend with the frosted finish. In essence, the glass repairs will not show in normal living quarters with either the shade lit or unlit. There is no scuffing of frosted areas, and no center hole chipping or cracks. Close inspection of the glass shade, other glass parts and prisms may find inherent manufacturer irregularities such as bubbles and straw marks which is very common. Prisms have been re-pinned. Pictures are of the actual sunflower ceiling light/chandelier. Variations in color among the photos is the result of color and light balancing, exposure, with the shade lit and unlit and against different backgrounds. The fixture and shade weigh 8 pounds. To adequately and safety package the ceiling light "calculate shipping" is based on a 12-pound parcel (parcel size 17" x 17" x 14") via UPS Ground. Comment: Purchasing a restored ceiling light is a significant expense. Be wary of sellers (some major sellers) offering similar ceiling lights that have raw pipe (exposed threads) showing through a clear glass body, and use cheap replacement 1960s style phenolic socket clusters that are often times intentionally undisclosed and not shown in photos. Be wary of sellers using the term "flea bites" on glass to downplay chipping. Fleas do not bite glass. Also be very wary of sellers who simply attach sockets (lamp holders) to a cross bar(s) with wire connections exposed (wire nuts not enclosed in a socket cluster). Non-enclosed wire nut connections are usually not stipulated in a listing and intentionally not shown in photos. Having exposed wire connections is violation of the National Electric Code (NEC) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards. You will be greatly disappointed expecting a licensed electrician to install a fixture as described above when when installation is refused.. An assumption is made that if you are looking at the sunflower chandelier you are familiar with it or at least the shade.
