This listing is for a 1984 Sony CDP-610ES CD player. It hasneen gone through and is working great. These are notorious for a failing motor gear in the direct drive transport mechanism.  I repaired the drive gear with epoxy and re-secured it to the motor shaft. It now open, closes and properly loads the disc. The laser was a bit out of focus, so it would not read all discs. I adjusted the laser to allow it to read even very scratched discs. It reads burned discs, too, with no issues. These players are built like tanks.  Copper plated chassis, all aluminum tray, and laser housing.  The mechanism it a bit noisy, but I find that typical of direct drive units like these. Please check the pics. I have been using this player in a vintage system for months since repair without issue. Free shipping to contiguous 48 states only.
