Limited production model of 18 pieces exhibited at DeviserOneDayGuitarShow2023. A new Headway model jointly developed from scratch by the craftsmen of AskaTeamBuild with Headway founder Yasuo Momose.
The Sitka spruce top was carefully selected for this limited edition model, and the side and back are made of Indian rosewood with a regular grain.
Based on the normal bracing used by Mr. Momose when Headway was launched, custom builders Yasui and Furihata have adopted modern arrangements and redesigned MidPointShiftedXBracing for the first time.
The ShallowScalloped specification, in which the strength of the strength wood is shallower than usual, was previously only used in Mr. Momose's CustomShop models, but this time it has been incorporated into TheEagle for the first time.
While each note has a well-defined tone, it also has low acoustics and a boxy resonance, and the well-balanced sound that wraps all of these in overtones follows the previous Headway sound, but offers new possibilities for Headway. It makes you feel sexual.
The ESV, which was also used in previous models, has been reshaped to adopt the ESV-Custom neck shape for a more comfortable grip.
As we move towards a tapered high position, we have redesigned the thickness at the 12th fret to be about 0.5mm thinner than the ESV, making it less difficult to grip even at the high frets, resulting in a finish that enhances playability.
The neck incorporates two carbon support bars, which maintain the neck's robustness and provide a quick response that transmits vibrations the moment you play.
The brand logo was inspired by the Eagle, the king of the sky, and the Headway crown logo, which means a crown, shines brightly.
The inlay has been rebuilt from the Eagle, which Headway has used as a symbol motif since its founding.
A scene of the bird spreading its wings wide and flapping in the sky, imagining flight to a new era, is carefully layered with shell decorations of different colors.
The ebony fingerboard depicts a flying eagle feather, and it is said that the eagle feather has the role of showing the path to take and making the future leap forward.
The design hopes for a new start for Headway and everyone who owns this machine.
The special model limited wood pickguard is thick and made of rosewood, the same material as the side and back materials, and has a luxurious painted finish.
Headway has brought together the essence of guitar making that has been cultivated over the years, and has put our passion for Japanese materials into not only the sound but also the details of the design.
