Ibanez is a guitar brand that Japan is proud of.
Although you may have a strong impression of electric guitars, acoustic guitars that utilize that know-how are also excellent.
This model is categorized as the AAM (Advanced Auditorium) series among such Ibanez guitars.
The auditorium, one of the acoustic guitar body shapes, has a history of over 100 years, as does the dreadnought, another common shape.
In recent years, the popularity of auditoriums has steadily increased due to their convenient size and well-balanced potential to suit any genre.
However, due to the characteristics of the auditorium, which has a smaller body compared to the dreadnought, it not only affects the volume, but also tends to lack mid-low frequency components, especially when strumming or delicate playing, and the overall sound quality. It was also true that there were issues that I wanted to solve, such as the center of gravity being tilted toward the neck, making it difficult to balance when held.
Therefore, Ibanez searched for a unique auditorium body shape to solve the problems faced by conventional auditoriums, and this series was born.
The widest part of the body is designed to be slightly wider than a typical auditorium.
In addition, the narrowest part of the body has been moved slightly toward the neck compared to a typical auditorium in consideration of weight balance.
Furthermore, in order to make it easier to hold, the edges of the body are rounded at a gentle angle.
The top is made of solid Sitka spruce, which is a standard top material.
The sides and back are made of sapele wood, which has characteristics similar to mahogany.
The neck shape is a Low Oval grip for ease of grip, and the edges of the fingerboard are also rounded.
In addition, the deep cutaway starting at the 18th fret and the angled lower heel design surprisingly improve playability on the high frets.
Furthermore, the biggest feature of this series is that it has a second sound hole called A.I.R.port on the side of the body.
There are many precedents for openings on the sides of the body to maximize acoustics, but this A.I.R. (Acoustic Information Response) port is more than just a hole.
The design is based on the idea that two reverberation sections inside the body refract and reflect the sound waves, allowing them to reverberate efficiently from the port.
The A.I.R.port is designed to be directly below the player holding the guitar, allowing you to feel your own acoustic sound even more strongly.
The preamp is equipped with a simple 2-band equalizer that is easy to use regardless of player skill level.
Since it is also equipped with an onboard tuner, there is no need to prepare a separate one, and the advantage is that it can be completed with just one guitar.
Since the battery is also housed in the preamp section, replacing the battery will be very easy.
