sound
The mid-high range sounds beautifully, and each note is clearly and clearly separated, and even chord strokes do not get lost in the sound, making it resonate comfortably.
In addition, the box sound unique to dreadnoughts and the low frequency range that is not blurry are as expected.
Although the sound is less gorgeous than the D-42 and D-45, it is practical and easy to use in all genres, so people who buy the D-41 without choosing the D-42 or D-45. There are also many.
Although the sharp overtones in the high range are a little low, the actual sound is clearly brought forward, so
Each string has a good graininess, and I think you can get the perfect sound for slightly intense rock and blues.
looks
The spruce used for the top of the body has a straight and beautiful grain.
The body side and back are made of high-quality Indian rosewood with a slightly pale color and dense grain.
The fingerboard and bridge are made of jet black ebony and look great! !
Model description
The D-45, whose production had ended in 1942, was revived in 1968, and the D-41 was born the following year in 1969.
The easiest way to describe the D-41 is to say "D-28 with luxurious specs like the D-45."
The main difference in appearance from the D-45 is that the hexagon inlay on the fingerboard is slightly smaller.
The Avalon inlay on the body is only on the top, excluding the side of the neck after the 14th fret.
The D-41's best part is its gorgeous yet rock-sounding sound that you can't get with the D-45.
Originally, it was generally thought that it was a decorated D-28, but the grade of wood used is only in the 40s, and even from the scalloped bracing, it looks like a D-28. It is a model with contents close to 45.
About Martin Standard Series 40
Martin model numbers 18, 28, 35, 45, etc. are styles.
If you're a hardcore fan, you probably already know that it was changed to represent a style in the 1880s.
Among them, the 40 series, which has an impressive luxurious inlay, is the top series in the lineup.
The oldest style of the 40 series is the 42, whose specifications were finalized around 1898.
Avalon inlays are applied to the top, fingerboard on the top, and around the sound hole.
The position marks on the fingerboard have a chic design called a snowflake.
Style 45, which is the highest regular model to this day, was added in 1904.
Avalon inlays are featured not only on the top, but also on the sides, back, and around the head.
Martin released the Dreadnought under its own brand in 1931.
The first Dreadnought in the 40s was the D-45, built in 1933 at the request of Gene Autry, a huge country star at the time.
The D-45, which later became a regular model, continued to be manufactured until 1942.
Perhaps because it is an expensive model, only 91 pieces were produced.
The D-45 reappeared as a regular model in 1968, and the 42 became the model for the 40 series.
One Dreadnought was made in 1934 for radio star Tex Fletcher, but it wasn't made regular until 1995.
Then, in 1969, the D-41 appeared.
It is said that the idea came from Mike Longworth, a well-known Martin historian, who proposed a model that would be luxuriously decorated and not as expensive as the 45.

The 40s model not only has a beautiful decorative appearance, but also
Although they are of the same type, they are made from higher grade materials, which makes it a great attraction to enjoy a gorgeous and elegant sound.
