This console is in full working order.

It has been modified internally in two important ways:

1. This Japanese console (NTSC-J) has been modified to 'Europe' Language setting. This doesn't affect game compatibility - this unit will play games from any region in the world by default - but it does change the displayed language to English,  rather than the default Japanese (almost all games include both on the CD).
2. The second modification affects the save data reliability/ longevity.  By default the console maintained save data using a battery backup to constantly supply voltage to the RAM chip.  If the battery died (which it inevitably would) all the save data would be lost. This modification replaced the original chip with an FRAM chip that doesn't need a battery, ensuring the save data is preserved for years to come.

What's included

The system comes with:

• Power supply -  a UK 240v power supply rather than the original 110v Japanese supply.  As original SNK supplies are very rare and expensive, this console comes with a modified HP power supply.
• AV cable
• Original joy pad - the NeoGeo is known for its unique 'clicky' controller and this is an excellent example of it in full working order.
• A CD-R (backup) copy of Windjammers - I found this in my collection and have thrown it in as a bonus.
