Freedom Custom Guitar Research was established in 1998 with the concept of pursuing guitar making with free ideas.
With a factory in Arakawa-ku, Tokyo, it is a Japanese-made high-end guitar brand that is highly acclaimed for its high-quality original guitars that incorporate thoughtful construction.
The one that arrived this time is one of the Retorospective series produced based on traditional specifications, and was finished with the image of the 1958-59 model, which was the last model with a maple fingerboard.
A plaid specification with a bolt-on maple 1P neck on a 2-piece alder body, matte paint, and processed parts.
The frets are not F.C.G.R original stainless steel frets, but Jescar #43080-NS.
The sound has a clear pronunciation and a crisp, fat tone that is typical of PB, making it a good tone that can be passed for vintage.
The tone is outstanding, and it goes well with flatwound strings.
Of course, it has the youthfulness that is characteristic of new instruments, so it is a good piece that is well worth training and enjoyable to play from the beginning.
