After graduating, with a degree in Fashion Design from The Parsons School of Design in New York City, Tom began working as an Assistant Designer in a Couture House on Madison Avenue.
Five years later he began selling his own collection at The Young Designers Market-NYC, in addition to selling to, and at, other boutiques under his own label: Sohung Designs.
His collection consists of original, hand made and one-of-a-kind pieces.
Because he likes his collection to be unique and creative, all Tom's designs are original and individually hand made in New York City not mass produced.
After a successful five-year stint at his own store (Sohung Designs on East 9th Street in Manhattan), he had a long-term contract with "Artists & Fleas" within world famous Chelsea Market in Manhattan. And now, he has a bricks and mortar store on West 16th St. NYC.
I have followed many emerging designers through the years and Sohung is one of the only ones left from way back when.
His pieces are timeless, unique and very easy to wear in a variety ways adding to their versatility.
I first met Tom when he was selling at a pop up in a school cafeteria in Nolita and followed him wherever he went.
I think his designs are extraordinary....to say the least....but, it is now time for them all to find new homes.
