The Clue of the Broken Locket
Carolyn Keene
New York, Grosset & Dunlap
1934 (1938-1941 Edition)
Hardcover, 219 pages

Nancy Drew books #1-18 were reprinted in 1938-1941. These have the blue boards with orange lettering and orange silhouette in the center. Additionally, these have orange silhouette endpapers (front and rear) as well as one frontispiece printed on glossy paper for #’s 1-17. (#18 has the frontispiece printed on regular paper since it is a WWII ration print.) THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL ILLUSTRATIONS.

Remember, finding a TRUE FIRST EDITION (1934 )of this book is pretty difficult and they can command hundreds of dollars, depending on condition and if it has its original dust jacket! But, even these later EARLY EDITIONS are quite collectible.

Here we have the eleventh book in the series, #11 and it is a 1938-1941 edition as it has all the indicators listed earlier.

I will be listing MANY of these editions at my eBay Store, IH Collectibles. Check them all out!

CONDITION:Overall, this book is in decent condition with the following issues as noted. You can see some wear and toning to the boards. You can see DEFINITE fading/toning/wear to the spine. The book is mildly cocked from improper storage and the boards are slightly loose, though still very much intact. Some minor page toning is evident throughout. Still, a quite decent edition here!
