Every 8-track tape is sold "AS IS"; all purchases are final; there are NO refunds, returns, credits, or exchanges. The tapes are being offered for sale as memorabilia. Most will play properly, at least initially (open copies are visually examined). Although not every tape will require repair, many tapes could benefit from new pressure pads, new splicing tape or sensing foil, and possibly new rollers. They are typically not splice-tested, and occasionally, one may separate at the sensing foil. Some tapes may require additional work because they represent technology that is 50+ years old. Please understand and accept all this before buying or bidding on any 8-track tape.

Again, due to these factors, 8-track tapes are offered for sale "as-is" and returns are not accepted. But in the event of a performance issue, I’ll be happy to provide contact information for my 8-track guy who, for about $3, will completely rebuild it for you with a new pressure pad, splice, and sensing foil. I apologise for the lengthy disclaimer! The majority of 8-track enthusiasts are prepared to tune up and possibly repair the cartridge when they order one from a seller online because they are well aware of the renown unreliability of this format. Unfortunately, I've recently encountered a number of buyers who were unclear on this; as a result, I've added this for clarification to my 8-track auctions.
