The Hofner500 1 ViolinBass was designed by Walter Hofner and introduced at the Frankfurt Music Fair in 1956. It has since become one of the most famous electric bass guitars in the music world, both in terms of appearance and sound.
The Hofner500 1'Cavern' ViolinBass originates from the Cavern Club in Liverpool, England. Opened in 1957, it was Europe's most important small club for bands trying to make it during the beat boom. The first Beat Night Sessions took place in 1960 and by mid-1961 the Merseybeat scene was at its peak on center stage at the Cavern Club.
Flame maple hollow body with spruce top. Three-piece maple neck and rosewood fingerboard reinforced with beech wood. Nut width 42mm, scale length 762mm. It has a sunburst finish.
