Vintage Kappogi Apron for Kimono Kitsuke - Never Worn

These are from a large lot of vintage Japanese aprons that we have acquired which were stock from a shop in Kyoto that sold kimono accessories. Most were produced in Japan in the 1960’s or 1970’s - before such items were made in other Asian countries as they often are now.

Kappogi are a traditional type of apron that is normally worn to protect your kimono when doing chores. They are worn when serving food, cleaning etc. They come in many different designs and fabrics - some traditional and some western. Most tie at the back and have elastic in the sleeves.

It is impractical to unpack all of them to show their exact design or measurements so please use the photos and your imagination to determine what each one is like... we have priced them with this element of mystery involved...

MADE IN JAPAN
