Martin 00-42 1930 Vintage Priwar Jacaranda

Description

A living witness that tells the story of history across various eras.
00-42 made in 1930 with a long history
Martin's 40s model is the dream of every acoustic guitar player.
The overwhelming presence and beautiful tone created by the Avalon inlay that decorates the entire body has captivated many masters.
The Style 42 has been around since 1904, when Martin's modern flagship, the Style 45, was born, and it is said that it was born in 1840.
It was Martin's top model before the introduction of the Style 45, and the luxurious decorations on the body became the original model of the Style 45.

The 00-42 that has arrived this time is a very valuable one made in 1930, with a 12-fret joint body, slotted head, and classic appearance that attracts the eye.The top is Adirondack spruce, and the sides and back are Brazilian rosewood. We use luxurious materials of the highest quality and rare materials that are hard to find.
The neck has a loose V-shape with a nut width of approximately 47.5mm, and the slightly wide shape is perfect for finger-style picking.
The exquisite sound pressure unique to the 12th fret joint is comfortable, and just by lightly stroking the strings, a beautiful and relaxed sound spreads out.
While the attack remains exquisitely bright, the sound image is moderately sharp, and the sustain is deep and dense, allowing you to enjoy the supreme bell ringing with intricately intertwined harmonic components. Masu.
The top is thinner than the current one and the bracing is scalloped, so we recommend using it with thinner strings such as extra light gauge or compound.

In terms of condition, the body has been overlacquered, but the original paint film that serves as the base has weather checks engraved in every detail, giving it an overwhelming vintage feel.
The pickguard seems to have been added later, and there is a Martin crack on the left side of the pickguard, but it has been repaired from the inside with two crack stops.
The bottom of the 6th string side of the side appears to have suffered damage in the past that resulted in the loss of wood, which was repaired by adding another piece of wood in an oval shape, and a crack was also repaired under the constriction on the 1st string side. There are some spots, but the surface has been refinished to make it smooth.
Overall, there are some scratches and dents that are appropriate for the model year, but the only noticeable damage to the wood is in the areas mentioned above, and considering that it has been over 90 years since it was manufactured, it can be said to be in excellent condition.
It is not uncommon for the pegs and bridge plates to be replaced after years of use, but they are all original.Although there are cracks in the 3rd string button, there is no problem with the operation during tuning, and there is wear due to the ball end. I can't even see it.

The neck has been reset and is generally straight, and the heel has been refinished darkly to cover the cracks that appear to have been caused by the reset.
There is a slight bulge around the bridge, but currently the string height above the 12th fret is approximately 2.5mm on the 6th string side and 1.8mm on the 1st string side, which is the ideal setting, and the frets are also at the normal height. It has been replaced with a certain type and the playability is perfect.
The above string height is the value at the time of publication, and may vary slightly depending on the period of in-store display.
The bridge has been replaced and is an ebony bottom belly type, and the nuts, saddles, and bridge pins, which can be considered consumable parts, are all new, so you can use it with confidence.
The top, which has a dark amber color and is worn to the point where the wood is hollow, gives a glimpse of its long history.

This is a very rare item that you will not be able to find even if you look for it.
