Epiphone E444T "Granada"

Description

Epiphone was started by a family of Greek immigrants. The family settled in Manhattan at the beginning of the 20th century and began running a business manufacturing, selling, and repairing musical instruments, including mandolins, out of a building that served as their residence and workshop. Epaminondas, the eldest son who inherited the family business, changed the company name to the current Epiphone in 1928. In the 1930s, as the boom changed to banjos and archtop guitars, both companies grew in reputation while competing with rival Gibson. However, during the war, the company's production system was severely damaged. Afterwards, the company entered a period of economic decline due to labor disputes and other issues. Les Paul, who had a deep connection with Kobo in the early 1950s, advised Ted McCarty of Gibson to save Epiphone. In 1957, the company became a subsidiary of Gibson, and the following year, a new lineup was developed and the company set out on a new path. This instrument is a 1965 Gibson Kalamazoo factory-made E444T "Granada". Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, 16-inch maple laminate body, equipped with Melody Maker pickup. The biggest feature is the pickguard assembly, which has a large design, and the slightly cheap atmosphere that resembles a toy with the Melody Maker PU, combined with the pale sunburst typical of the 1960s, creates an extremely cute look. . It is a model similar to Gibson's ES-120T and has almost the same specs if it is of the same generation, but the Epiphone's unique coloring is a charm point that makes you want to choose this one. This pickguard has a single coil with a clearer output than the P-90 and a simple 1VolTone circuit, and in addition to the acoustic sound of the body, it brings a mysterious sound like a unique small box sound to the output. There are knots, and the sound also plays a role in forming the character of this one-of-a-kind model. Although it has a narrow 40mm neck, its rounded neck makes it easy to pick up, and it produces a good sound even when unplugged, making it highly recommended as a home-playing instrument. There is a solid weather check on the whole, and you can feel the dignified aging, but the gloss of the paint remains and it looks relatively clean. Although there are some dents and small scratches here and there, there is no damage that significantly impairs the appearance or interferes with performance. It has been finished relatively recently and is in good playing condition. The basic parts such as the Krewson, assembly, trapeze tailpiece, etc. are original, and only the ABR type bridge has been replaced with domestic parts. Comes with a used hard case.
